The true success of the Center for Workforce Development
Services (CWDS) is our
ability to place job seekers in a good career
track for long term career success. To ensure
success, clients visiting the CWDS receive the
one-on-one consultation with Career Counselors to
help them find employment that best matches their
skills and abilities.
The various components
of the services they receive include:

testing tools such as the TABE, SDS,
Myers Briggs, and JTPA, the assessment
enables the Career Counselor and client
to find employment and career goals that
best match their skills and abilities. |

clients desire immediate employment, the CWDS encourages its clients to actively
identify a meaningful career path. With
the help of a Career Counselor, clients
can develop an individualized success
plan that helps them identify
opportunities that can lead to a long
term, sustainable career. |

Resume
Preparation Assistance

A
well-written resume is a crucial
necessity in landing an interview.
Whether counselor-assisted or through
self-directed computer programs, clients
have the tools and assistance available
to create high quality, professional
looking resumes to accommodate their job
search. |

Job Bank
|
|
Commonly
referred to as the Skills Bank, the CWDS
maintains a log of current job vacancies
specifically posted by employers in and
around Louisville/Jefferson County. These
employers have furnished these openings
as a means of locating qualified workers
and to assist them meet their diversity
goals. |

As an added value, clients also have
access to many services offered that focus on a
variety of self-directed services, including an
online job search, free Internet access, career
software and training, and video/audio tape
library.
