The NULITES initiative strives to instill the following core values in our youth:

Education SummitAn additional strategy aimed at helping youth to be successful is the Urban League’s annual Education Summit. The event, held in February, engages the community in a public discussion of issues impacting youth attending Jefferson County Public Schools. Topics are wide-ranging, and have included such issues as the JCPS Student Assignment Plan and Parental Involvement. Parent Leadership AcademyResearch shows that increased parent involved leads to children being more successful in school and life in general. The Parent Leadership Academy is a program that encourages parents to take a more active role in the education of their children.

All sessions of the Parent Leadership Academy are held the Louisville Urban League, 1525 West Broadway, Louisville. Sessions are limited to 50 people. Lunch is provided.
How to Participate: It's easy to participate in the Parent Leadership Academy, and it's absolutely free. Parents can register by contacting their Family Resource/Youth Services Center Coordinator or by phoning the Louisville Urban League at (502) 566-3363.
