“Diversity Soirée Presented by Fifth Third Bank” is annual tradition held in May.  The black-tie gala brings people together from across the community to celebrate diversity and to raise funds for Louisville Urban League programs and services. 

A highlight of the evening is the presentation of the “Arthur M. Walters Champion of Diversity Award.” The award is named in honor of Arthur M. Walters, who served as Executive Director of the Louisville Urban League from 1970 to 1987 and was also an early civil rights activist. 

Initiated in 2004, the award recognizes outstanding achievement by an individual, business or organization in the promotion of diversity within the Louisville community.  Past recepients of the honor are:
