A CALL TO ACTION:

Louisville Metro has established a community-wide goal to achieve 55,000 new college degrees by 2020 to meet projected workforce needs. Within this goal, a goal of 15,000 has been set for degree holders from the African American community. Major efforts are on the way to mobilize and engage the African American community in achieving these goals.

The 2011 Education Summit focuses on raising the awareness of this multi-year iniative and to educate people on organizations and institutions who are playing vital roles, and have a community conversation with a keynote speaker and panel discussion to identify strategies, best practices for student achievement and for motivating African Americans complete a degree.
